Hundreds from around the world gathered in Paris at the Palais de Tokyo to witness a private concert from Steinway Artist Yuja Wang to launch The Steinway & Sons Noé Limited Edition, created in collaboration with the multidisciplinary French designer, Noé Duchaufour-Lawrance. The designer chose three radiant colors — white, red and blue — and added matching accent veneers to create stunning visual highlights: ivory white with Figured Sycamore Wood; midnight blue with Blue Stained Mahogany wood; and a deep burgundy red with red-stained Indian Apple wood. The cast iron plate, as well as the fittings, are crafted in a silver- or gold-colored finish, complimenting the color of each piano.
Ms. Wang performed a full three sets of encore pieces at each instrument and dazzled the crowd with her impeccable virtuosity in dresses designed to complement each instrument by Celine & Dior. The audience was further awed by a live demonstration of the Steinway & Sons Spirio | r, the world’s finest high resolution player piano — equipped into each and every Noé Limited Edition — each of which took turns playing on into the cocktail-and-hors-d’oeuvre hour that followed after the instruments’ reveal.
