MASTERPIECE 8X8
HOMAGE TO THE BEAUTY OF NATURE

The new Limited Edition MASTERPIECE 8X8, Steinway & Sons pays homage to the world’s most precious woods through superlative craftsmanship and pays tribute to the beauty of the earth and its treasures. Steinway & Sons produces precious grand and upright pianos distinguished by the use of special veneers and unique examples of craftsmanship. These instruments are a feast for the eyes while remaining sonic masterpieces.

8 PRECIOUS VENEERS

Eucalyptus, Macassar, Macore, Oak, Olive, Santos Rosewood, Sycamore, Walnut — melodious names, each originating from distant regions in the world, in different colours and grains: something for every nature lover.

8 GRAND PIANOS AND 8 UPRIGHTS

The number 8 symbolises great luck, so only 8 grand pianos and 8 upright pianos of each wood are passionately handcrafted with respect for nature at the Steinway Factory in Hamburg.

Note: Please note that veneers are natural products and that each instrument is one-of-a-kind. Therefore, the pictures can only serve as a rough illustration of wood grain, pattern and color.

music enjoyment according to the latest standard

All grand pianos in the MASTERPIECE 8X8 collection are issued as Model B-211 and are equipped as STEINWAY & SONS SPIRIO, the world’s finest high resolution player piano. A masterpiece of artistry and engineering in your home, SPIRIO enables you to enjoy performances played by great pianists — captured with such nuance, power, and passion that they are utterly indistinguishable from a live performance.

A WRITING INSTRUMENT AS INDIVIDUAL AS THE PIANO

Each Masterpiece 8X8 comes with a high-quality writing instrument designed by Hamburg–based designer Jan Zander exclusively for Steinway & Sons.

Individually handcrafted by Zander from the original solid woods of the collection, the design corresponds to the look of the instruments and once again underlines the passion and attention to detail that go into them. The design of the clip harkens back to a Steinway patent from 1880 and employs the shape of the screws of the pressing device developed at that time, still used today to bend the grand piano case.
